Key Words: Team Quiz Technique, Reading Skill Reading is one of the important skills in English and it gives many benefits for us. To master reading, students need to have reading desire and should be tried to read something intensive and continually. In teaching reading, we can use technique to improve students’ reading skill. Team Quiz is a teaching technique developed as an interactive approach between students, teachers, and lesson materials The statement of problem of this research is how is the implementation of Team Quiz technique to improve students’ Reading Skill in eighth grade of SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Jetis Ponorogo in the 2012/2013 Academic Year. The purpose of this research is to know the implementation Team Quiz technique to improve students’ Reading Skill in the eighth grade of SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Jetis Ponorogo in 2012/2013 Academic Year. The subject of this research was the students of the eighth grade of SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Jetis Ponorogo in 2012/2013 Academic Year which consisted of 30 students. The research was started on March 28th 2013 until April 9th 2013. This research was conducted in two cycles. The researcher used three research instruments. There are observation check list, questionnaire, and test. Based on the result of this research, the implementation of Team Quiz technique can improve students’ reading skill in SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Jetis Ponorogo, it was seen from the improvement of average of students’ score from 62.81% in cycle I up to 87.08% in cycle II. The questionnaire result showed that students enjoyed and become active during teaching learning process. Finally, the researcher gives suggestion that English teachers can use Team Quiz technique as alternative technique in teaching reading. The next researcher can develop this technique to get the better result in teaching learning process.
