Abstract
Key Terms: Student Facilitator And Explaining, Reading Skill Reading skill is very important for students. Especially in are modern societies today. Therefore reading skill in MTs Nurush Sholihin Tamanarum are still low, because they difficult in understanding in the text. One way in helping students reading skill by using Student Facilitator and Explaining Strategy. Student Facilitator and Explaining Strategy is the certain of present the material to their friends and be continue with all explanation the material to the student. The statements of problem of this research is How can Student Facilitator and Explaining Strategy improve students’ reading skill at the eight grade of MTs Nurush Sholihin Tamanarum in academic year 2013/2014. Based on the statements, the purpose of this study is to know the result of the implementation of Student Facilitator and Explaining Strategy improve students’ reading skill at the eight grade of MTs Nurush Sholihin Tamanarum in academic year 2013/2014. This research was done in MTs Nurush Sholihin, Tamanarum, Magetan from October 16th until November 1st, 2014. The subjects of this research were the students of eight grade which consist of 21 students. The researcher used the Classroom Action Research as her research design through cycle from planning, acting, observing , and reflecting. The researcher used three research instruments, they were observation, questionnaire and test. The research was done in two cycles. In cycle I, the result of students’ observation score was 83.3%. It showed that the students were not active enough. The result of questionnaire score was 75.7. 5%. It showed that students not enjoying. . The result of the test showed that some students got score under the standard which was determined. Some students got score below 75. In cycle II, the students’ result of observation checklist was 91.6%. It showed that the students were more active than before. Questionnaire score was 93.6%. It showed that the students were very enjoying and more interested in studying English, especially in reading text. The result of the test on the increase. The students got score greater than or equal to 75. x Finally, the researcher gives suggestion that English teachers can use Student Facilitator and Explaining strategy in teaching reading. The next researcher can develop this strategy by using various kinds of the media to get the better result in teaching learning process.
