Abstract
Low birth weight is one of the causes of the high infant mortality rate (IMR). LBW is caused by a short gestational age (premature birth), IUGR (Intra Uterine Growth Restriction) which in Indonesian is called Inhibited Fetal Growth (IUGR) or both. Both causes are influenced by risk factors. Broadly speaking, there are two factors that can affect low birth weight (LBW), namely maternal factors and fetal factors. The purpose of this study was to analyze the risk factors on the incidence of LBW in RSUD Dr. Harjono Ponorogo. This research method is a type of quantitative research with a research design or research design using a cross-sectional research design. The population in this study were infants with low birth weight who were born in Dr. Hospital. Harjono in 2021 amounted to 117. The sample in this study was 116 respondents, with sampling using the quota sampling technique. The results of statistical tests showed maternal age with p value = 0,307, parity with p value = 0,083, gestational age with p value = 0,061, and education level with p value = 0,345. It can be concluded that there is no relationship between risk factors (mother's age, parity, gestational age, and education level) on the incidence of LBW in RSUD Dr. Harjono Ponorogo. So it is hoped that health workers can detect other factors that have the potential to affect LBW that can be anticipated, namely gestational distance, preeclampsia, and Hb levels and improve management efforts appropriately, quickly and responsively so as to prevent complications for both mother and fetus.
