Abstract
Moral education is the main thing to be achieved in the educational process. Various educational systems have been developed to achieve positive changes for students, both in terms of morals and cognitive aspects. The application of moral education in Islam is guided by the Qur'an. Through the tahfizh program, it is hoped that students will not only memorize verses of the Qur'an, but make the memorized verses to be internalized in the form of noble character based on the Qur'an. This study aims to describe the planning, implementation and evaluation of the tahfizh program in the formation of morals and strengthening the memorization of the Qur'an at the Pesantren Tahfizh Alam Qur'an in Ponorogo. This type of this research is a qualitative research, with a natural approach (natural setting). The research subjects were the headmaster of the Pesantren, the Leader of the Tahfizh Division, the Leader of the Students Division, six guardians of students, and eight students as respondents who memorized the Qur'an. The technique of collection data were carried out through interviews with related parties, direct observation on the object of research, and documentation of data related to research. The technique analysis data are carried out by grouping the data, making sequences and conclusions so that the data can be easily read. The results of this study show that: 1) Moral education is a priority part of the overall education program, 2) Moral education through the tahfizh program is implemented through a memorization system accompanied by understanding the memorized verses 3) Moral education is applied through the stages of knowledge, habituation, and exemplary and punishment. The conclusion of this research is that the whole moral education and tahfizh program is carried out starting with planning by the musyrif with the leadership, then the results of the planning are carried out systematically and measurably, the last is the scheduled evaluation activities.
