Abstract
ABSTRACT In Indonesia backsmith craftsmen have been around for decades. This skill has been passed down from generation to generation until now. Kiping Village, Gondang District, Tulungagung Regency is one of the villages where the majority of the population work as blacksmith craftsmen. Products that can be produced include agricultural tools, building tools, and kitchen tools. a problem is formulated, namely how to design and build forging machines that meet the criteria of ease of use, low manufacturing costs and ease of maintenance of the machine. Produced a tool that has dimensions of length 1500 mm width 500 mm and height 750mm. The drive used in the design uses a 1-phase 0.75HP 220V 1500 Rpm electric engine. The machine can produce a frequency of blows every minute as much as 80 times. Can complete 1 knife job in 11 minutes. The results are more average than manual craftsmanship, so it reduces the time for finishing work. Keywords: blacksmithcraft, automatic forging machine
