Abstract

Peanut (Arachis Hyogae) is one of the most widely grown cultivated plants in Indonesia, and Ponorogo district is no exception. Peanuts have a moisture content of 35% - 40% after harvest and if they are stored immediately, the peanuts will be damaged due to the growth of fungi and bacteria. Therefore, farmers must first dry the beans until they reach 16% by drying them in the hot sun first, which takes about 4-5 days. Manual drying is less effective because the sun's heat from one day to the next is not always the same, and drying will take longer in the rainy season. This research produces an automatic peanut drying machine with an Arduino Uno controller. The design of the hardware components includes heaters, load cells, temperature sensors, moisture content sensors, blowers, LCDs and other supporting components. For software design using programming on the Arduino IDE on a PC/laptop. The performance of this automatic peanut drying machine is pretty good because direct heating and drying can be evenly distributed. Based on the data and test results of this tool, different drying times were obtained because the weight of the peanuts tested on the first tester and the second test was different to achieve a moisture content of 16%. In the first test weighing 1 kg takes 38 minutes to reach 16% moisture content
