Abstract
This study aims to examine the effect of liquidity, solvency, and activity on profitability, in companies in the consumer goods industry sector, which are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2018-2021 period. This study uses a type of quantitative research. Source of data in this research is using secondary data. The object of this research was conducted at companies in the consumer goods industry sector, which are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2018-2021 period. The sampling method used was purposive sampling. The population in this study are companies in the Consumer Goods Industry Sector, which are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2018-2021 period, totaling 15 companies, with 4 years of research the authors examined 60 data. The results of testing the first hypothesis that the variable liquidity affects profitability, this indicates that a high level of quick ratio can increase profitability because companies use current assets effectively. Testing the second hypothesis shows that the solvency variable affects profitability, this shows that the level of debt to equity ratio owned by the company affects the profit received by the company. Testing the third hypothesis shows that the activity variable affects profitability. This indicates that the calculation results of this ratio will be better, because the results of these calculations show that the company's assets rotate faster so that profits will be faster. Testing the fourth hypothesis shows that the variables liquidity, solvency, and activity simultaneously affect ROA. This means that together liquidity, solvency, and activity can increase profitability. If the ratio of liquidity, solvency, and activity increases, profitability will also increase. Keywords : consumer goods company, liquidity, solvency, activity, profitability
