Abstract

Title: MOVEMENT "LET'S BOUGHT" FARMERS IN PONOROGO Name: Endang Widayati NIM : 21240881 This video recording work as a substitute for this thesis entitled 'The “Let's Get Rid of Farmers in Ponorogo” movement was registered with Intellectual Property Rights, Ministry of Law and Human Rights on January 28, 2023. The video recording work is the original work that I took while doing activities in the Movement campaign. "Come on, bother the farmers in Ponorogo, November 10, 2022 coincides with the commemoration of Heroes' Day and has been registered with Intellectual Property Rights, Ministry of Law and Human Rights. This work tells the story of a campaign to change the mindset of farmers in Ponorogo, which has an agricultural land area of 34,800 hectares and in 2023 this will increase to 35,150 hectares. Of the 949,320 inhabitants of Ponorogo, 60% are farmers. So it is important to push these farmers out of the routine of cultivating conventional agricultural land that they have lived for decades. This 7.34 minute video begins with an overview of conventional farming and then continues with training on making organic fertilizers, training on making local micro-organisms (MOL) and making biological agents. This is illustrated by the existence of training activities, practices and field applications by farmers showing that farmers want to be bothered. With activities that want to be bothered, will solve some of the agricultural problems so far. The problems so far are: 1. Subsidized fertilizers are increasingly being reduced in type, while the price of non-subsidized fertilizers is expensive 2. The need for agricultural machinery for farmers is increasing because of the difficulty in finding workers (a lot of Ponorogo agricultural labor is imported from Ngawi district, where are the Ponorogo people?) 3. The grip of large corporations on agricultural products such as seeds, fertilizers, pesticides to the selling price of the harvest. The solution so that agriculture is more advanced, production increases, plant pest organisms (OPT) are controlled, fertilizers are fulfilled and farmers’ lives are more prosperous, farmers.must be willing to start the hassle of processing their own organic fertilizers, making their own pesticides and applying them and even willing to apply the transfer of knowledge and agricultural technology that is new. The phenomenon in Ponorogo, for decades the agricultural problems complained of by farmers have not changed, namely the lack of subsidized chemical fertilizers, non-subsidized chemical fertilizers, the prices are skyrocketing, chemical pesticides are expensive, seeds are expensive and harvest prices are cheap. xi With this problem, Ponorogo farmers do not try to take another leap to overcome it. They don't want to carry out agricultural production in an environmentally friendly manner because they don't want to be bothered. Finally, for decades, farmers have always relied on instant methods by relying on chemical fertilization and chemical pesticides, so the complaints for decades have been the same. Although, the Ponorogo Regency Agriculture, Food Security and Fisheries Service provided training on making organic fertilizer. As a result, most of the training and provision of agricultural machine tools, such as fertilizer processing machines, were stalled. Of the 281 villages in Ponorogo, only 10-15 Gapoktans produce organic fertilizer. If the mindset of farmers changes, it is expected that farmers' profits will not only be obtained from the difference between production costs and harvest prices, but also from the efficiency of production costs. Dr. Sulton M.Si, an academic from the Muhammadiyah University of Ponorogo (UNPO) as well as a member of the Ponorogo Regency Agricultural Extension Commission, said that if Ponorogo farmers want to get out of the problems they have been complaining about so far, they must have the courage to get out of agricultural politics which has been in the grip of conglomerates, oligarchs or capital owners. . In particular, they have to make a leap to be able to be independent and get out of the clutches of large corporations in the agricultural sector which make them dependent. "If you want to bother, you can be sure to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and chemical pesticides. This campaign also has a mission to reduce the use of GMO seeds (Genetically Modified Organisms or Genetically Engineered). Farmers do not realize that for decades they have been lulled by government assistance and large corporation products, so that they become dependent and end up as stuffed toys, “said Dr. Sulton, M.Sc. Suparwan (50 years), a member of the Mulyo Farmers Group, Pulung Merdiko Village, Pulung District, said that he agreed with the let's bother campaign to change the mindset of the current farmers. In fact, he and other members of the farmer group, in order to meet the need for fertilizer, are willing to bother processing livestock manure into fertilizer in a mobile manner from cage to cage.
