Abstract

ABSTRACT Preserving Local Wisdom Culture, Heritage and Culture Preservation Association Holds Prayer Rituals in Suru Kubeng Name : Noviyanto Catur Kurnia Wardanu NIM : 21240975 In order to protect and preserve the local wisdom and cultural arts which are the legacy of Ponorogo's ancestors, the Association of Heritage and Culture Conservationists held a prayer ritual and the tumbak landhep heirloom ceremony at the suru kubeng petilasan in the village of Kutu Kulon, Jetis District, Ponorogo. Traditions like this have become a routine agenda every year which will be held in early December. In the history that developed and it is believed by the people of Ponorogo that Suru Kubeng is a place where Ki Ageng Suryo Alam Moksa.Where it is located in the middle of the rice fields of the residents surrounded by large trees that look lush. It is told in its history that Ki Ageng Suryo Alam was a powerful warok madragona figure in the glorious era of Hinduism in the 14th century AD. In his story, that Ki Ageng Suryo Alam is the father-in-law of Raden Batoro Katong, the younger brother of Raden Patah Raja Demak Bintoro, the second son of Prabu Brawijaya V who is now the forerunner of the birth of Ponorogo Regency. This ritual of prayer and Jamasan Tumpak Landep existed before ancient times which must be preserved so that it does not become extinct and maintain the cultural traditions of Kang Adi Luhung even in the era of progress. Apart from that, it also provides education to the younger generation so they understand the history of Ponorogo Regency, as well as maintaining and preserving the cultural heritage of their former ancestors. After holding the prayer ritual, the community for preserving heritage and culture will later be carried out by jamasan heritage. Where this tradition already existed in the era of the Mataram kingdom. By carrying out prayer rituals and heritage jamasan, it is intended that the people of Ponorogo be safe, secure, gemah ripah lohjinawi and avoid pandemic.
