Abstract

ABSTRACT SCIENTIFIC WRITING: MENTAL NURSING CARE OF SCHIZOPHRENIA PATIENTS WITH NURSING PROBLEMS OF RISK OF VIOLENT BEHAVIOR (In the Larasati Room RSJD Dr. Arif Zainudin Surakarta In 2022) By: VIEDILA SONYA JIEHAN INDRIYA 20613398 The risk of violent behavior is one of the symptoms experienced by schizophrenia in a situation where a person commits an action that can be harmful physically or to himself, other people, or the environment. Violent behavior is suspected as a result of extreme and maladaptive feelings of anger or fear (panic). The purpose of this scientific paper is to provide nursing care to clients with schizophrenia with a risk of violent behavior which includes assessment, data analysis, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation of nursing. This nursing care was carried out on 31 December 2022 – 04 January 2023 in the Larasati Room RSJD Dr. Arif Zainudin Surakarta for 5 days with the nursing process approach method. The results of the client's assessment are at risk of violent behavior. The implementation is given by providing an implementation strategy, consisting of the first implementation strategy, namely BHSP (Building Mutual Trust Relationships), identifying the causes of feelings of anger, signs of symptoms that are felt, violent behavior committed, its consequences and ways to control anger physically, namely taking deep breaths and hit a pillow or mattress. The second implementation strategy is taking the medication regularly. The third implementation strategy is to converse well with others. The fourth implementation strategy is spiritual by practicing prayer and praying. The results of the final evaluation are that the client can repeat the first to fourth implementation strategies smoothly, and can explain the causes of anger, the signs and symptoms that are felt, the violent behavior that is committed, the consequences, and how to control anger. Clients with a risk of violent behavior need support and motivation to control the violent behavior experienced by the client and the role of the nurse is needed in the implementation of nursing care, this can help in the client's recovery.
