Abstract
Water plays an important role in human daily life. Water is used by humans for drinking, bathing, washing, irrigating rice fields, and for cooking. For drinking needs other than cooking, currently there are other ways to obtain it, namely refill drinking water obtained from refill drinking water filling stations. In Ponorogo Regency there are many places to refill drinking water. Based on a survey that was conducted on ten places in five sub-districts in Ponorogo Regency, only one place had a drinking water quality measuring instrument in the form of a TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) meter, but it was not installed in the system. Meanwhile, other drinking water filling points are awaiting testing from related parties with a frequency of checking once every few months. According to the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia number 492 of 2010 the value of TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) or better known as TDS which is declared safe is a maximum of 500mg/l or 500ppm and the allowed pH value (Power Of Hydrogen) is 6.5-8.5 . For this reason, an Outseal PLC Based Drinking Water Production Quality Control System was created. This tool uses a TDS sensor and a pH sensor to detect water quality, then it is processed by a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) with the PLC Outseal brand, then the TDS and pH sensor reading results are displayed on the HMI (Human Machine Interface) monitor directly or in real time. If the TDS or pH value is not in accordance with the provisions, the buzzer sounds and gives a warning that the water is not safe. Then the system will protect not to be able to fill gallons. So that the quality of the refill drinking water produced can be monitored and the quality can be maintained every time production is carried out. The results of the test show that the water from ten drinking water filling points in five sub-districts in Ponorogo Regency is still in accordance with the applicable standards.
