Abstract
The use of plastic as a composite board is a way to overcome the problems that exist in Indonesia due to the large amount of waste. Composite boards are a combination of two or more materials, namely plastic and powder, with the basic ingredients using plastic material. Therefore, plastic waste can be utilized as a composite board material, for example, PVC (Polyvinyl chloride) plastic, PET (Polypropylene Terephtalate) with added fiber from coconut fiber. In this study the authors used a comparison of the three materials with a percentage of 25% - 35% PVC plastic, 45% -55% PET plastic, and 20% coconut fiber. Of these percentages, the highest tensile test value was 460.85 N and the highest stress was 11.823 N/mm2 at the composition of 25% PVC plastic, 55% PET plastic and 20% coconut fiber. Based on the results of the tensile test, a microstructure test was carried out on the specimen. With the results of the mixture, judging from the microstructure of the material, it is good, but there are still cavities and clumping coconut fiber in the specimen. This happened because during the smelting process the composition of the specimens had not been mixed evenly.
