Abstract

A financial drawer is a money storage container commonly used by the public, and in this case, supermarkets are among the owners. Security is an absolute necessity that everyone desires. The conventional financial drawers currently in use still employ manual locks, which is undeniably hazardous, considering that supermarkets are places of significant buying and selling activities. This observation was made by the author at Azza Supermarket located on Ngrambe – Widodaren Street, RT05/RW05, Ngrambe Village, Ngrambe District, Ngawi Regency, East Java. The development of a security system is highly crucial to ensure the safety of the financial storage system. Its advancement can leverage cutting-edge technology, which is undoubtedly more efficient and practical. The security system of financial drawers has not seen substantial progress from the past to the present due to supermarket owners' lack of awareness about the importance of their financial security systems. This device is designed using NodeMCU ESP 8266 as the control and message sender to the user, data processing using MySQL with Arduino IDE as the software input source code, an RFID reader as the reader of E-KTP (Electronic ID Card), and a magnetic switch sensor as the detector of drawer breaches. This somewhat archaic drawer security system, aside from being risky due to its potential for breaches, can occur due to owner negligence or other factors. The Financial Drawer Security System that integrates E-KTP with IoT is created to address and reduce the potential for breaches and unpredictable theft occurrences.
