Abstract
Apart from memorizing the 40 Hangeul characters, another challenge in the process of learning Hangeul is the monotonous teaching method. Typically, Hangeul is taught with simple explanations and limited use of instructional media. To overcome the monotony in the teaching and learning process, it is necessary to have engaging instructional media. One of the instructional media that can be used is a matching card game. In the matching card game, a randomization algorithm can be applied with the goal of enhancing the players' memory. One of the algorithms that can be employed is the Fisher-Yates Shuffle Algorithm. For the subject of this research, it was conducted at Mayanntara School located in Malang City. The application of this game was developed in a web-based format for easy accessibility. User Acceptance Test (UAT) was utilized for testing this instructional media application, and the results obtained from the testing were at a rate of 90.35%. In other words, the matching card application as a learning media for the Korean language was well-received by the users. The algorithm testing itself was carried out three times with user counts ranging from 1 to 3. The results of the algorithm testing demonstrated that the Fisher-Yates Algorithm functions as intended. This was evident from the constantly changing positions of images in the game, which differed from the positions in the database. Some feedback from users who had used this application included suggestions for setting a maximum flip limit, incorporating a pause feature, and the idea that the application would be even better if it were also developed in the form of an Android app.
