This study aims to determine the values of character education contained in al-Qur'an sura al-Mudatsir verses 1-7 according to Wahbah al-Zuhaili and Jalaluddin al-Suyuthi in the book of tafsir al-Munir and tafsir al-Durr al-Mantsur , how to build teacher character, and the relevance of character education to Islamic education. This research is library research, all sources related to this research refer to written data sources. This study uses a qualitative method where research is more focused on describing the state of the nature or nature of the value of a particular object or symptom. The type of this research is document analysis research or content analysis. Content analysis research is research that is carried out systematically on documents as data sources. The approach used in this research is descriptive. In this study, the primary data source was taken from the Tafsir al-Munir and Al-Durr al-Mantsur, especially in the commentary section of Surah Al-Mudatsir verses 1-7. This study obtained the results that the character values contained in Surah Al-Mudatsir verse 1-7 are; (1) A teacher must have compassion for his students. (2) Teachers must have a sense of care to spread knowledge. (3) Glorifying God. (4) Maintain physical and mental cleanliness. (5) Abandoning sinful acts. (6) Sincere in educating. (7) Have patience in educating. The various characters contained in Surah al-Mudatsir verses 1-7 must be learned, loved, and cultivated by the teacher. Teachers who have character or noble character are real role models for their students. Character education values are important for Islamic education to internalize Islamic values to teachers and students. Character education and Islamic education have the same goal of forming quality students intellectually and morally superior.
