Abstract

Dynastic politics aims to maintain and even strengthen the power of a family group. The dynastic political practices of the Sonodikromo Family in Gedawung Village, Kismantoro District, Wonogiri Regency have made the Sonodikromo family an elite group in the community and government of Gedawung Village. The formulation of the problem of this research is to find out how dynastic politics work in Gedawung Village by the Sonodikromo Family with the aim of understanding the dynastic political practices that occur in Gedawung Village, Kismantoro District by the Sonodikromo Family. Related to the flow, method and interests that became the goal of the Sonodikromo Family to build dynastic politics. This research uses a qualitative approach with participatory observation and in-depth interviews, while also conducting a document review as an effort to search for data. The way dynastic political practices work by the Sonodikromo Family is a by design model, which means that dynastic politics has gone through a long formation process. The Sonodikromo family maintains power not only by maintaining the position of village head for the family but also by placing family members and "people" in every part of the village government including the dusun/dukuh. Applying Familism Culture aims to strengthen the power of family influence, placing relatives and close people in a position of influence. Making the dynasty an elite group with power.
