Abstract
This thesis is entitled The Role of the Village Government in the Management of the Ngrijangan Paleolithic Workshop Site, Sooka Village, Punung District. The purpose of this study is to find out the role of the village government in managing the site in Sooka village, with the existence of a workshop site in Ngrijangan and the discovery of artifacts found in Sooka village areas starting from Ngijangan which was used as a tool-making workshop. -artifact tools and rivers like Sooka where artifacts are found. The role of the village in managing the site is by establishing an archeology organizational structure and within the organizational structure forming a Pokdarwis in collaboration with the village community. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with the data collection process using interviews, observation, and documentation. Informants who provided information regarding the role of the village government in managing ancient human paleolithic workshop sites were the team involved in the management of the workshop, including village heads, heads of archaeological organizations, Pokdarwis members and the surrounding community. The results of this study can be explained that the role of the village government in managing the Ngrijangan village paleolithic workshop site in Sooka Village is that the village government makes regulations and organizations that regulate and maintain the workshop site so that it is maintained and is able to make the place a workshop tour that can be recognized and with the passage of the site it can become a village asset.
