Abstract
ABSTRACT Siti Nuraisah, 2023. Extracurricular Management in Improving Academic and Non-Academic Achievements of Students at Muhammadiyah Ponorogo Elementary School. THESIS. Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program, Faculty of Islamic Religion, University of Muhammadiyah Ponorogo. Supervisor Dr. Ayok Ariyanto, M.Pd.I. and Lilis Sumaryanti, M.Pd. Based on PP RI Number 62 of 2014 concerning Extracurricular Activities, namely character development activities in the framework of expanding the potential, talents, interests, abilities, personality, cooperation and independence of students carried out outside of KBM hours under the guidance and supervision of the education unit. However, in practice, sometimes there is a discrepancy between expectations and reality on the ground. Some schools ignore the importance of their extracurricular activities, which causes ineffectiveness and inefficiency. Extracurricular activities at school are often neglected, resulting in reduced quality. In contrast to Muhammadiyah Ponorogo Elementary School which has a variety of extracurricular activities and has won various national and international championships compared to other schools. With so many achievements, this attracted the writer to research extracurricular management in improving the academic and non-academic achievements of students at SD Muhammadiyah Ponorogo. The research objectives: 1) Knowing the extracurricular management planning in improving students' academic and non-academic achievements at Muhammadiyah Ponorogo Elementary School, 2) Knowing the organization of extracurricular management in improving students' academic and non-academic achievements at Muhammadiyah Ponorogo Elementary School, 3) Knowing the implementation of extracurricular management in improving academic and non-academic achievements of students at SD Muhammadiyah Ponorogo, 4) Knowing the process of evaluating extracurricular management in improving student academic and non-academic achievements at SD Muhammadiyah Ponorogo. Retrieval of data using interview techniques, observation and documentation study. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively. The results showed that extracurricular management at SD Muhammadiyah Ponorogo went through several processes including planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating. 1) Planning in advance to form a formulating team managed by the vice president of student affairs and put in plenary at a working meeting with the school principal and school community, 2) The organization is also carried out properly, namely the existence of an extracurricular organizational structure, 3) The implementation of the program refers to the plans that have been prepared previously, namely extracurricular activities are carried out every Saturday, 4) the evaluation process uses indirect supervision, namely supervision carried out by reporting submitted by his subordinates, namely the deputy student affairs to the school principal.
