Abstract
The Student Boarding School Al-Manar, which aims to educate new students at Muhammadiyah University Ponorogo in Islam based on the Quran and Sunnah, faces challenges in maintaining its role and addressing the impacts of change. By implementing policy measures and strategies, the leadership of the Student Boarding School seeks to address discipline issues. Although the education program lasts for a month in a rapid boarding system, issues of lateness and student absenteeism still occur, often disrupting mandatory activities. Manual recording becomes a source of problems, especially when students ask their peers to record their attendance or absence, making it difficult to track. Therefore, an automated technology system is needed. One modern solution is the Automatic Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS), which simplifies attendance management for record-keepers. Students only need to place their registered fingers on the fingerprint machine, accurately recording their arrival and departure times. The main goal of this system is to streamline the previously manual attendance recording process and involve parents in supporting discipline at the boarding school. It utilizes fingerprint sensors for individual identity verification, preventing cheating practices. Therefore, the author has successfully developed a Student Group Attendance System using Fingerprint technology that works optimally. This device has the main function of improving the attendance system and real-time fingerprint data logging. Testing with a sample of 21 registered fingerprints resulted in a success rate of 95.3%.
