Abstract
Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is the body's calorie needs in humans in carrying out any activity. Calories affect daily food calorie intake, of course, will also affect body health. The amount of calories in food is usually only seen from the type of food, this could be due to not knowing how to calculate the required daily calorie formula. Therefore, by taking advantage of current technological developments, a digital tool is needed to provide information related to BMR, making it easier for someone to find out the number of calories without counting manually. Therefore, the authors took the initiative to design a height and weight measurement tool to find out BMR in real time based on the Arduino Mega 2560. This tool uses a load cell sensor to measure body weight and an ultrasonic sensor to measure height. LCD as a system output display, push buttons and keypads as identity input, and also utilizes a web service as a database record by processing data using My SQL. The result of this design is a scale that can measure weight and height as well as calories using the BMR method. This tool's data recap system uses the web which can be accessed by all users.
