Abstract

Almaida Esha Alfiarista: The Correlation Between the Ability to Memorize the Al-Qur'an and the Mathematical Reasoning Ability of Pondok Modern Badii' Islamic Middle School Students Usy Syamsi. Thesis, Ponorogo: Mathematics Education Study Program, Muhammadiyah University Ponorogo, 2023. The aims of this study were: (1) To find out the ability to memorize the Al-Qur'an for SMP Islam Pondok Modern Badii’ Usy Syamsi students, (2) To find out the mathematical reasoning skills of SMP Islam Pondok Modern Badii' Usy Syamsi students, (3) To find out the relation between the ability to memorize the Al-Qur'an and the mathematical reasoning abilities of SMP Islam Pondok Modern Badii' Usy Syamsi students. The type of this research is quantitative correlational. Quantitative correlational research is used to see whether or not, a correlation between two or more variables quantitatively and how far is the corellation. This research was conducted at SMP Islam Pondok Modern Badii' Usy Syamsi with a population of all students. The samples were taken by purposive sampling technique, were class VIIIA and VIIIB, which consisted of 52 students. The data from this study were obtained from the results of students' Al-Qur'an memorization within 40 minutes and working on 3 items of students' mathematical reasoning abilities. Based on the results of the descriptive analysis, the average value of students' Al-Qur'an memorization ability was 67.50 in the jayyid (good) category and the average score of students' mathematical reasoning abilities was 66.79 in the good category. The correlational analysis between the ability to memorize the Qur'an and the ability to reason mathematics showed results of r_hitung=0,358>r_tabel=0,231, and a significance value of 0.009 < 0.01. So it can be concluded that bahwa H_0 rejected and H_1 accepted. The meaning is "There is a relation between the ability to memorize the Qur'an and the ability to reason mathematics". The relationship between the two variables at a percentage of 12.82%.
