Abstract
ABSTRACT Case study background: Icterus neonatorum is a health problem that often occurs in newborn babies. Icterus is a clinical condition in infants characterized by a yellow color of the skin and sclera due to increased levels of bilirubin in the blood in neonates. The aim of the case study: to provide midwifery care to a 5 day old newborn with physiological icterus Case study method: this case study uses a descriptive method with the Continuity Of Care approach given to Mrs. N's baby who was born spontaneously at TPMB. Home visits were carried out 3 times. The subject was By. Mrs N, 5 days old with physiological jaundice, assessed at the second visit. Primary data type. How to collect anamnesis data, observation, examination and documentation. Data analysis by comparing the data obtained with existing theories. Case report and discussion: Mrs. N gave birth spontaneously on June 22, 2023, when KN 2 was carried out, the condition of Mrs. N's baby appeared yellow on the face. Midwifery care provided to By Mrs. N is by breastfeeding her baby on demand or every 2 hours and if the baby falls asleep, wake her up first to breastfeed. Conclusion: after being given midwifery care to By Ny.N, it can be concluded that the problem can be resolved. At the 3rd visit Mrs. N was no longer yellow and it was hoped that Mrs. N would continue to provide exclusive breast milk on demand to her baby. Newborn Keywords, Physiological Jaundice
