Abstract
2-stroke motorbikes produce less than perfect exhaust emissions and cause increased air pollution. The aim of this rese arch is to determine the effect of exhaust modification using charcoal briquettes on exhaust emissions obtained on Yamaha FIZR motorbikes. This test is carried out using a gas analyzer to determine the results of the exhaust emissions produced. The test was carried out five times on one specimen using a variety of five types of charcoal briquettes and with engine speed variations of 1500 rpm, 3000 rpm, 4500 rpm. From the research results showed that the lowest reduction in CO levels was obtained at an rnginr speed of 4500 rpm with a mixture of 90% rice husk charcoal and 10% cement with a reduction value og 0,18% frpm 3,95% to 3,77%. Lowest CO2 levels obtained at an engine speed of 1500 rpm with a mixture of 25% corn cob charcoal 15% coconut shell charcoal 10% rice husk charcoal 30% acacia wood charcoal 20% cement with a reduction value of 0,24% from 1,68% to 1,44%. HC levels from 1500 rpm to 4500 rpm have the same value, namely 9999 ppm or no decreace at all. The lowest O2 was obtained at 4500 rpm engine speed with a mixture of 80% coconut shell charcoal and 20% cement with a decrease of 0,13% from 12.10%to 11,97%. So from this research it can be concluded that in the fifth specimen or mixture These four materials are the best to be used as filters to reduce exhaust emiissions produced in vehicles
