Abstract

Tugurejo Village is one of the cultural villages in Ponorogo Regency, a village located in Slahung District. Tugurejo Village has a lot of very diverse local wisdom. The culture includes Reog, Karawitan, and sholawatan, cultural preservation, as well as preserving customs & traditions. With these various local wisdoms, the role of the village government is very important in developing, supporting, maintaining and preserving the characteristics of Tugurejo Village itself as a cultural village. A form of responsibility for the village government in carrying out activities to develop and preserve customs, culture and traditions, the Village Government forms an Institution or Association whose membership involves all elements of society, including religious leaders, community leaders, youth and women, which is then determined through the Village Head's Decree. that the Village Head is the village administrator in terms of fostering, protecting and preserving socio-cultural values and customs, reconciling community disputes in the village and maintaining community peace and order. The Tugurejo Village community also responded positively to the role of the Tugurejo Village government. With this research, the author conducted research to determine the role played by the village government to preserve, protect, develop, support and maintain the proper characteristics of Tugurejo Village itself.
