Abstract
The Permata Medika inpatient clinic is located in Sukorejo Village, Sukorejo District, Ponorogo Regency. Permata Medika Clinic is a private health service that provides 24-hour ER services and outpatient and inpatient services. Medical records at Kinik Permata Medika are recorded on sheets of paper with the storage of these medical record documents placed in a room with the storage put in a folder and then placed on an iron shelf in alphabetical order. The numbering given to the patient's medical record map is based on the initial letter of the name and serial number of the patient's medical record. The average number of patients per day who receive data from the clinic is 20 people. The length of time for medical officers to search for data takes approximately 8-10 minutes to search for data. This makes it difficult for officers to search for old patient data. To overcome this problem, in this research a medical record system was created that is effective in searching data by applying the Boyer Moore algorithm method which is expected to speed up the search for patient data in the medical record system. Based on performance testing carried out using 50, 150, 300 and 500 test data, the test was repeated three times by comparing 3 characters and 5 characters, namely that 5 characters were faster based on the average final result of the test, namely 0.0485 seconds so that searching for data can be said to be faster. The fewer character patterns you search for, the longer the search takes because more words are searched and more words are found, and the more patterns you search for, the faster the search because fewer people are searched and fewer words are found.
