Abstract
ABSTRACT Julia Putri Sintia Ningrum. Citizen Involvement in Philanthropic Movements (Case Study of LAZISMU Management, Ponorogo Regency). Thesis. Pancasila and Citizenship Education Study Program. Supervisor 1 Dr. Sulton.M.Sc., Supervisor 2 Dr. Sutrisno S.Pd., M.Pd The high poverty rate in Indonesia results in a social gap between the rich and the poor. Of course, a solution is needed to reduce poverty, therefore, apart from the government's duties, citizen involvement is also needed. One of the citizen involvement that is widely practiced in Indonesia is philanthropy. Muhammadiyah's commitment to helping the government eradicate poverty has existed since the first century Muhammadiyah was founded. This philanthropic spirit is now expressed in the Zakat Infaq Muhammadiyah Charity Institution. Therefore, this research aims to: 1) To find out the forms of citizen involvement in philanthropic movements organized by LAZISMU Ponorogo Regency, 2) to find out the strategies carried out by LAZISMU Ponorogo Regency to increase citizen involvement, especially in philanthropy. This research is a qualitative research with data collection through interviews at LAZISMU Ponorogo Regency and the LAZISMU service office at Muhammadiyah University Ponorogo The results of this research are 1) forms of citizen involvement in the philanthropic movement at LAZISMU, namely political involvement including citizen involvement in submitting aid proposals, citizen involvement in developing ZIS management. and building community, moral involvement includes providing ideas, social involvement includes giving donations by residents, involvement of citizen energy and involvement through social media, civic involvement includes awareness of residents making donations through LAZISMU and awareness of residents taking part in the LAZISMU program. 2) The strategy carried out by LAZISMU Regency to increase citizen involvement is direct fundraising which includes conducting outreach and education and establishing collaborative synergies with Muhammadiyah branch leaders as well as indirect fundraising which includes carrying out promotions through social media and events. Therefore, there is a need for coordination and consolidation between the LAZISMU office and the LAZISMU service office in Ponorogo Regency to carry out outreach and provide education to the community more actively so that people understand the importance of giving to each other.
