Abstract
Eye disease interferes with a person's vision process which can bring the threat of blindness. A survey obtained from the Rapid Assessment of Avoidable Blindness (RAAB) for the 2014-2016 period stated that the prevalence of blindness in Indonesia was 3.0%. However, throughout 2023, PERDAMI noted that there will only be 3,000 eye specialist doctors in Indonesia. The limited number of eye specialist doctors will have an impact on services to the community. For this reason, an expert system for diagnosing eye diseases was designed using the Naïve Bayes method so that the public can carry out early detection of the symptoms of eye diseases. By using the confusion matrix as a testing method, system diagnostic accuracy results with test data were obtained at 76%. Apart from that, the design of this expert system application uses the website-based PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) programming language. From testing using the black box method, it is found that the application runs according to its functionality.
