Abstract
Stoves fueled by used oil are stoves that are not often found in society. Generally, people use LPG-fueled stoves. In this research, the design of a stove fueled by used oil was carried out. By varying conventional preheating, circular and spiral rings on the fuel to facilitate combustion. The stove tests carried out were efficiency tests, flame temperature distribution and exhaust emissions on stoves fueled by used oil. The results of the best efficiency test measurements were that the stove with spiral preheating had an efficiency of 55.52%, steam production of 1.881 gr/s and fuel consumption of 0.288 gr/s. For the flame temperature distribution on the spiral stove, the lowest is 97 ºC and the highest is 777 ºC. For emission test results, CO (carbon monoxide) levels were 0%, HC (hydrocarbons) 44.8 ppm, CO2 levels 4.9%, λ values were close to optimal (1.0924) and AFR (air full ratio) values were 16.02. The lower the HC and CO2 levels and the closer to the optimal AFR value, it shows that the oil stove has cleaner and more efficient gas emissions.
