Abstract

This study is entitled THE INFLUENCE OF A PERSON'S RELIGION AND MORALS IN THE COMMITTEE OF CRIMINAL OFFENSE, which aims to explore the influence of religion and morals on a person's decision in the context of criminal offenses. Crime is an important issue in modern society, with widespread and often harmful impacts on many parties. Religion and morals play a key role in shaping individual behavior, and this thesis seeks to uncover how these two factors interact and influence a person's decision to commit or not commit a crime. A comprehensive literature study is used to understand the conceptual framework underlying the influence of religion and morals in the context of criminal offenses. Normative research methods involve the analysis and assessment of ethical norms, values and moral principles associated with criminal behavior. The results of previous research indicate that religion plays an important role in inhibiting criminal behavior. Individuals who have strong religious beliefs are more likely to avoid criminal behavior for fear of adverse moral and spiritual consequences. Factors such as feelings of guilt, fear of divine punishment, and moral values instilled in religion play an important role in inhibiting criminal behavior. In addition to religion, morality also influences individuals' decisions regarding criminal offenses. Individuals with higher levels of morality tend to avoid criminal acts because they feel that such acts are incompatible with their moral principles. Individual morality can be influenced by various factors, including values instilled in the family, education and social environment. However, this research also shows that other factors, such as social and situational pressures, also play a role in individuals' decisions regarding criminal offenses. Therefore, it is important to understand that religion and morals are just one of many factors that influence criminal behavior. This research has important implications for crime prevention and improving the criminal justice system. Encouraging a deeper understanding of religion and morals can provide a foundation for developing intervention programs that are more effective in minimizing crime in society. In addition, this study also emphasizes the importance of education and moral formation in reducing criminal behavior in modern society.
