Abstract

ANALYSIS OF TIKTOK SOCIAL MEDIA USE @radarmadiuntv IN CREATING INNOVATIVE NEWS CONTENT This research aims to find out how @radarmadiuntv uses TikTok social media to create innovative news content. The emergence and popularity of social media for disseminating information and news is a real impact of technological change, one of which is the existence of social media platforms, such as TikTok, which has received widespread attention in this context. In this research, the subject used is the TikTok platform @radarmadiuntv, one of the local media that uses TikTok to spread news. However, in using TikTok to disseminate news, @radarmadiuntv must also consider how to create innovative and interesting news content, reach a wider audience, increase engagement with the public, and ensure compliance with journalistic regulations and ethics. This research uses the Social Construction of Technology (SCoT) theory, which is a theory from Trevor J. Pinch and Wiebe E. Bijker. The main components of SCoT theory are relevant social groups, interpretative flexibility, closure and stabilization, and wider context. The type of research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The research results show that TikTok @radarmadiuntv applies the SCoT theory, because humans are the ones who shape and influence technological development. Technology was created to meet human needs, seen from social groups such as the editorial team which has a role in creating news content with a presentation format that achieves stabilization, positive audience feedback and the influence of wider contexts such as culture and politics.
