Abstract
Key words: Reading Skill and Group Resume. The purpose of study is to know the implementation of group resume to improve the stundents’ reading ability of the eleventh grade of MA Muhammadiyah 1 Ponorogo in 2015/2016 Lesson Year. In this research, the researcher conducted classroom action research was used as the research design. The subject was the elevent grades student sciences class of MA Muhammadiyah 1 Ponorogo on 2015/2016 lesson year. The class consists of 15 students. Before implementing the research, the researcher made lesson plan, a scenario of teaching Using Group Résumé, and prepared instruments, questionnaire, observation, and test. Besides, the researcher also made criteria of success to know the successfulness of the research. The research was done in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of two meetings. The first meeting was the implementation of Group Résumé and the seconds was the reading test. The minimum of score is 70. Based on the result of the reading test in cycle one it was known that only 4 students or 26.67% who got score above 70. 11 students or 73.33% got score under targeted score. Therefore, the result of first test had not fulfilled the criteria of success. So the researcher continued the research. The result of the test in cycle two showed improvement. 15 students or 100% got score above 70. Finally, the researcher decided to stop the research. The researcher suggests that the teacher to use the variation of teaching strategy that suitable with students’ characteristic, such as Group Resume. Besides, the teacher has to create the teaching learning process become fun, so that the students can be enjoyable the lesson.
