Abstract

Handling of violations of Campaign Materials in the 2024 Election is a crucial issue that affects the integrity and sustainability of the democratic process. This study aims to analyze the mechanisms, challenges, and effectiveness of handling violations of APK in Ponorogo Regency. The theory in this method uses Edward III's Theory. The research methodology uses a qualitative approach with data collection through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. Research informants include members of the General Election Commission (KPU), the General Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu), election participants, and the local community with purpose sampling techniques. The results of the study show that handling violations of APK in Ponorogo still faces various obstacles, including limited human resources and budget, as well as lack of awareness and compliance from election participants with existing regulations. The procedure for handling violations involves several stages, starting from identifying violations, verification, to taking action. However, the effectiveness of handling violations is often hampered by a long and complex bureaucratic process, as well as minimal coordination between related institutions. This study also found that public participation in monitoring and reporting violations is still low. Education and socialization regarding the importance of compliance with campaign rules need to be improved. In addition, the use of information and communication technology in monitoring violations of Campaign Props can be a solution to increase efficiency and transparency in handling. Although efforts to handle violations of Campaign Props in Ponorogo Regency have been running, improvements are still needed in terms of resources, coordination between institutions, and community participation to achieve more effective and efficient handling. The recommendations of this study include increasing human resource capacity, simplifying handling procedures, and utilizing technology to monitor violations.
