Abstract

Cerebro Vascular Accident or stroke is damage to brain tissue caused by a sudden reduction or cessation of the supply of oxygen to the blood, because the blood flow stops causing the supply of oxygen and nutrients to the brain to stop, so that parts of the brain cannot function as they should. The impact of stroke can affect the fulfillment of self-care needs. The aim of this case study is to provide nursing care for non-hemorrhagic stroke patients with self-care deficit problems. Nursing care for non-hemorrhagic stroke patients with self-care deficit problems was carried out in the Aster Room at Dr. Harjono Ponorogo Hospital for 4 days from 11 - 14 June 2024. The method used was a nursing process approach which included assessment, making nursing diagnoses, intervention, implementation and evaluation. The results of the assessment obtained from Mrs. A data were in the form of a Self-Care Deficit. Implementations carried out to fulfill personal hygiene include elimination of defecation, eating and drinking, bathing. After 4 days of treatment, the evaluation showed that the Self-Care Deficit had not been resolved. Clients with self-care deficits require good and routine treatment from nurses and families to resolve client problems in comprehensive nursing care.
