Abstract
This research aims to increase the efficiency and success of egg hatching on small-scale poultry farms. The automatic egg incubator was developed to overcome the shortcomings of traditional incubators, by utilizing a 5V DC power source and an automatic control system. This research evaluates the effect of the number of heating elements on the temperature distribution in the hatching machine and its impact on hatching productivity, including fertility rates, embryo survival and hatchability. The experiment was carried out using three heating elements and measuring the temperature distribution at eight points on the egg surface using a thermometer for 21 days. The research results show that machines with three heating elements have a more consistent temperature distribution compared to machines using one or two heating elements. The lowest average temperature was found in machines with one heating element (37.5°C), while the highest average temperature was recorded in machines with three heating elements (39.2°C). The conclusion of this study shows that increasing the number of heating elements improves the efficiency of temperature distribution in the incubator, which ultimately increases the success of egg hatching. Machines with three heating elements were found to be the most effective in distributing temperature evenly, which is an important factor for successful hatching.
