Abstract
Plastic waste is one of the main problems in environmental pollution on land and in the sea. Plastic waste is not easily decomposed and takes a very long time to decompose naturally. The type of material used to do this is a mixture of polythylene terephthalate, polypropylene and iron powder. This research aims to determine the value of hardness and macro structure as well as to determine the value of the bending strength of the specimen. The average value of the lowest hardness was obtained from a mixture of 50% PP Plastic: 30% PET: 20% Iron Powder with a hardness value of 10.8 HRC. Meanwhile, the largest average hardness value was obtained from a mixture of 60% PET plastic specimens: 40% iron powder with a hardness value of 44.6 HRC. The average value of the smallest bending strength in the presentation of 50% PP Plastic: 30% PET: 20% Iron Powder with a value of 14.3 Mpa, while the largest average value of bending strength was obtained in the percentage of 60% PET Plastic specimen: 40 Iron Powder % with a value of 29.4 Mpa.
