Abstract

Issuance of Police Record Certificate (SKCK) is one of the important services provided by the police for the community. The process of issuing SKCK at Polsek Barat often faces obstacles in searching for criminal data because the system is still manual. This obstacle causes the time needed to search and verify data to be longer, thereby reducing service efficiency. Therefore, this study aims to design and implement a web-based SKCK system using the Sequential Search algorithm. The Sequential Search algorithm was chosen because of its simplicity and ability to search linearly from the beginning to the end of the data. This system is expected to accelerate the process of searching for criminal data and increase the efficiency of issuing SKCK at Polsek Barat. This study was conducted with the steps of system needs analysis, system design, implementation of the Sequential Search algorithm, and system testing. This system was developed using the programming languages PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL database. The results of this study show that the developed system is able to increase the speed of data search by up to 50% compared to the manual method used previously. Thus, the SKCK system based on the Sequential Search algorithm can be an effective solution to overcome the problem of data search at the West Police Station.
