Abstract
Keyword : Writing Skill, Interactive Writing Method, Greeting Card This research was based on the problem about the use of interactive writing method to improve students’ writing skill in the seventh grade of SMP Ma’arif 5 Ponorogo. This research aimed to find out whether teaching writing of greeting card using interactive writing method to improve students‟ writing skill, to collect students’ perception and impression of guided questions process, and to collect the progressive result of students’ participation in learning writing of greeting card at seventh grade students of SMP Ma’arif 5 Ponorogo. Subject in the study was seventh grade students of SMP Ma’arif 5 Ponorogo that consist of 12 students. The research design in this study used classroom action research. There were four essential parts of classroom action research, they were : planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. This research divided into two cycles and two meeting each cycle. The method of teaching used interactive writing method. This method aimed to develop students’ creativities in learning writing. The instruments that were used in this research were the English test sheet, observation check list, Questionnaire sheets. There were improvement result of the first cycle until second cycle. The average of test result was 69 in the first cycle and 85 in the second cycle.The observation check list and questionnaire result showed that students was more interested, enjoyed and active during learning process. From the result mentioned , it could be concluded that interactive writing method success to improve students’ writing skill. Finally, the researcher had some suggestions, the students should more active and cooperative in learning, so they could increase the achievement. The teacher must work together with students in learning process. The rnext researcher could use the electronic media to create more interesting class, so the result of reserch will be better
