Abstract

Key Terms: English, Perception, ICT and Students English Achievement Most of education curriculums use the many technologies to enhance the innovation of learning especially in English learning.Students have many ways to improve their knowledge through their learning styleComputer application can be easy to memorize in their brains. Students’ perception is more needed in learning process because experience of the students can influence their learning process. Computer as modern media can be applied in learning, especially in English. By the computer aid, the students can improve their language ability. Rapid advances in the development of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) have simultaneously been seen to offer new opportunities for enhancing the quality and effectiveness of language teaching and learning. This research was conducted to know whether there is or not correlation between students’ perception on ICT and students’ achievement in English learning. The subject of this research was students on SMP Negeri 2 Jetis in Academic Year 2015/ 2016. The instrument of collecting data used questionnaire and documentation. Questionnaire used to determine the students’ perception and documentation uses to search the students’ English achievement. The questionnaire includes 35 items. Based on the questionnaire, there are 22 students, and the documentation was the score of odd semester report. This research used SPSS 23 to analyze the data. From the calculating in the data analysis above, it is known that the value of r is -0.090 and the value of r table with degree of freedom (df/db) = N – nr = 22 – 2 = 20 and the significant 5% is 0, 690. So, the result is r table < r empiric. In conclusion there is no correlation between Students’ Perception on ICT and Students’ English Achievement in Eight Grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Jetis Ponorogo in academic year 2015/2016.
