Abstract

Keywords: English Teaching, Teaching Model, English Course English Language is the international language used by the world community. In Indoneia, the position of English as a Foreign Language makes the need for him more and more years. The presence of English language subjects in Indonesian schools instead of becoming a requirement of students towards the mastery of English language just become a problem at the end. Then there is an English course institution as an alternative to the mastery of English. The purpose of this study is to describe the English teaching model of English Course in Ponorogo. The method used in this research is qualitative method. The Instrument of this research is Non-Participant Observation and Interview. The data were obtained from OHIO English Course and ELITE English Course. The subject of this research are tutors and Course Director from each Institution. The data analysis in this research was used Field Analysis of Miles and Huberman Model. The descriptive qualitative method was used in presenting the result of data analysis Both OHIO and ELITE English use Audio Lingual Model for Listening enhancement, and Grammar Translation Method to improve basic understanding of English skills. However, ELITE uses a special model called "Gap Information Communication" as a mandatory model for tutors. OHIO uses the Book Module to control the material. Both also apply games to support learning, especially in decomposing the boredom that hit students while the lessons take place. Therefore, researcher suggest for The English course always improve the model in the class or outside the class. Improving tutor skill by training for trainer (TOT) for reaching the games education skill.
