Abstract

Key Words: Writing skill, Word Webbing Writing is one of the four language skills that can be measurement of literacy development in a country, it is also has not become entrenched yet, especially in Indonesia. But sometimes students feel confused how to arrange and express their idea into good sentences. The statement of problem of this research is how can Word Webbing improve students writing skill at Tenth Grade of SMAN 1 Bungkal in Acadmic Year 2018/2019? The Purpose of this research study is going to find out how the improvement of students’writing skill using Word Webbing method at tenth grade of SMAN 1 Bungkal in the Academic Year of 2018/2019. This subject of this research is the student Tenth Grade of SMAN 1 Bungkal Ponorogo. This research provided classroom action research was conducted in two cycle .The researcher used three research instruments. There were observation check list, questionnaire, and test. Based on the result of this research, the implementation of Word Webbing could improve students’ writing skill at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Bungkal. It had seen from the improvement of student’s percentage in cycle one was 48 % up to 100 % in cycle 2.The questionnaire result increased from 66.8% up to 92 %, it showed that students were interested, enjoyed and became active during teaching learning process. Finally, the researcher gives suggestion that English Teacher could use Word Webbing method as alternative strategy in teaching writing.The researcher hopes that the result of this study will be useful for the next researcher who will conduct research about the same case in different field of study.
