ABSTRACT Ratnasari, Nia. 2020. The Role of the Tahfidz Al-Qur'an Program in Developing Emotional Intelligence of Students at MTs Muhammadiyah 3 Yanggong Ponorogo. Supervisor (I) Dr. Nurul Iman, Lc, M. HI and Supervisor (II) Ayok Ariyanto M.Pd. I. Keywords: Tahfidz Al-Qur'an, Emotional Intelligence A person in his life must have guidelines and a vision for provision in this increasingly modern era. Starting from good education and teaching at an early age because at this time children have intellectual development, so that children's memories are able to recap well, and also children can be directed to good things, one of which is memorizing the Al-Qur'an. In memorizing the Al-Qur'an students are not only educated in reading but also understanding and memorizing the contents of the contents in the Al-Qur'an and are able to practice it in their daily life. The benefits of memorizing the Qur'an are not only for developing children's emotional intelligence but also for safety, happiness in the world and in the hereafter. The objectives of the study were: 1) to describe the implementation of the Al-Qur'an tahfidz program at MTs Muhammadiyah 3 Yanggong Ponorogo. 2) to describe the role of the tahfidz Al-Qur'an program in developing the emotional intelligence of students at MTs Muhammadiyah 3 Yanggong Ponorogo. This research uses qualitative research with a case study model. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, observation and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique in this study uses data analysis techniques and Miles and Huberman's models include: data reduction, data display, and data verification (conclusion drawing) and consists of several stages that must be done, namely : data collection, data reduction, data display and conclusion or verification. The results of this study can be concluded as follows: 1) Implementation of the tahfidz Al-Qur'an program at MTs Muhammadiyah 3 Yanggong Ponorogo started from the beginning of 2017 through ideas from madrasah and carried out every day from 06.30 to 07.30 with a memorized deposit system to the supervisor . 3) The role of the Al-Qur'an tahfidz program in developing the emotional intelligence of students at MTs Muhammadiyah 3 Yanggong Ponorogo can be seen from the attitudes and characters of students who have high emotional, self-realization and motivation. They are more disciplined in their lives, never give up in facing problems, are honest in their speech, are optimistic in memorizing Al-Qur'an and tawadu 'to the teachers.
