Abstract

Oktamaurida, Nufike.2020. Teacher’s Readiness in Using ICT for Language Learning Media in Senior High School in Ponorogo, Thesis, English Education Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo, Advisor : (1) Dr. Bambang Harmanto M.Pd. (2) Siti Asiyah, M.Pd. English as the first foreign language is a compulsory subject from junior high school to college. English learning media is very important to help students acquire good language skills and competencies. In the process of teaching and learning not only learning media is needed, but the competence of an educator is also needed. The Research objects to find out the teachers readiness in using ICT for language learning media in SeniorHigh Schools in Ponorogo. The research design used was descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this study were teachers in senior high school in Ponorogo consisting of 10 teachers. The instruments were questionnaires and interviews. There were 11 questions distributed to teachers 'to find out the readiness to use ICT by the teacher's and interviews consisted of 4 questions to identify difficulties and overcome in using ICT. The results of the questionnaire show that 100% of the teachers are ready to use ICT in language learning media. And from the interviews, it shows that 40% of teachers experience obstacles when using ICT. These obstacles can be overcome by teachers such as difficulties in facilities by improving the quality of facilities, infrastructure that is less supportive in the form of improving infrastructure in schools, teachers' understanding of knowledge and experience in using and operating technology such as computers, laptops and other media by conducting training on developing knowledge technology.
