Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of liquidity, working capital efficiency and firm size on company profitability. Population on this research is an agricultural sector company listed on the Stock Exchange Indonesia in 2015-2020. The data source used is secondary data in the form of financial statements of agricultural sector companies obtained through the website www.idx.co.id. The sampling technique in this study used purposive sampling method. Based on the predetermined criteria, then obtained as many as 6 companies that can be used as research samples. Method the analysis used is multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS version 22 application. The results of the research on testing the first hypothesis show that the liquidity variable partially has no effect on profitability. This means that the management of current assets carried out by the company is not optimal. The results of testing the second hypothesis indicate that working capital efficiency has an effect on profitability. This shows that the company is efficient in managing the company's working capital, resulting in increased working capital turnover. The results of testing the third hypothesis indicate that firm size has a negative effect on profitability. This shows that an increase in company size will affect a decrease in company profitability. The results of the simultaneous test show that the variables of liquidity, working capital efficiency and firm size have a significant effect on profitability in agricultural sector companies in 2015-2020. This means that all variables of liquidity, working capital efficiency and company size if they have the same movement up or down, it will increase or decrease the company's profitability. The result of the coefficient of determination (R2) is 0.528 or 52.8%. This shows that the independent variables used in the study, namely the liquidity variable (X1), working capital efficiency (X2) and firm size (X3) on the profitability variable (Y) can simultaneously explain the variation in profitability of agricultural sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2015-2020 52.8% and the remaining 47.2% is influenced by other variables outside this research model. Keywords : Liquidity, Working Capital Efficiency, Firm Size, Profitability.
