Abstract
Abstract Used oil is categorized as Hazardous and Toxic Waste or abbreviated as LB3. To reduce the potential hazard, it can be done by distillation/distillation technique. In this study, 2L of waste oil was heated from a temperature of 25C to a maximum temperature of 325C for 150 minutes. The result of waste oil as much as 2L to 1.6L with the same fuel. From the test results on the biodiesel sample, the calorific value is 10682 cal/gr. This calorific value affects the amount of fuel consumption per unit time, the higher the calorific value, the less fuel is used. From the test results on the biodiesel sample, the density value is 0.817 gr/ml. The density value of biodiesel from waste oil is almost equivalent to diesel and dex. From the test results on the biodiesel sample, it is obtained that the viscosity number is 6.2 cSt. High viscosity or fluid that is still more viscous will result in slower flow velocity. From the test results on alternative fuel samples from waste oil, the flash point value is 25.5C. The lower the flash point value, the harder it is to turn on.
