Abstract

In the driving part, it uses an electric motor used as a water pump (Sanyo) so that it can be used with a low wattage. The transmission component of the chopper machine uses a gearbox with a V-belt pulley of type A-32 so as to produce a blade shaft rotation of 299.72rpm. The workings of this chopper machine will move if the electric motor is turned on which will rotate the gear ratio (gearbox) which is forwarded to the blade disc shaft through a pulley that rotates the V-belt belt to the shaft pulley, and the disc rotates to chop the cassava into chips. In the test that resulted in round chopping, the 15 second time produced 229 grams of chopped and the second test 850 grams of chopped cassava with a time of 2.20 minutes the power required was 157.79 W. The next test was the long chopper, with a time of 15 seconds it produced 205 grams and the second test weighs 1 kg of cassava with a time of 1.45 minutes the power required is 201.14 W. Due to the larger power required, the installation of a gearbox transmission is required. And the yield can be more or less than the designed capacity due to the different dimensions of cassava. But basically the tool that I designed is able to approach the capacity that was planned at the beginning of the design
