Abstract
Rooftop Solar Power Plant (PLTS) is a tangible manifestation of the use of New Renewable Energy. The Solar Power Plant (PLTS) system has several components, namely solar cells (photovoltaic), solar charge controllers, batteries, inverters, and other supporting components. The amount of energy produced by this generating system is influenced by various things such as air temperature, solar radiation, the position of the solar cell to the sun and also the position of the solar panel installation. The installation position of a solar panel greatly affects the surface temperature of the solar panel, especially the installation distance between the solar panel and the roof of the building. produced a solar panel. So based on the problem above, a study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of installing solar panels so that the surface temperature of the solar panels is not too high so that it can produce maximum energy. In this study, the variation of the installation distance between the solar panels and the roof is 10cm and 30cm. The data taken from the research is the surface temperature of the solar panels, current, voltage, peak power and absorption generated by each solar panel. It can be concluded that after conducting research on solar panels with an installation distance of 30cm, the absorption and energy produced is greater because the surface temperature is lower than solar panels with an installation distance of 10cm. However, the weather factor is very influential in this study.
