Abstract
Garbage is one of the complex problems faced by developed countries, especially plastic waste which is increasing, therefore waste can be used in the manufacture of composites, one type of plastic waste is HDPE, PP and copper powder. tensile strength and microstructure, with a plastic composition of HDPE 50 % – 60 %, PP 30 % – 40 % and copper powder 5 % - 15 %. Composite specimens with the highest tensile test were obtained from the composition of HDPE 60 %, PP 30 %, copper powder 10% which has a value of 898.6 N with a stress of 17.280 N/〖mm〗^2, and the lowest is obtained at the composition of 40% HDPE, 40% PP, 15% copper powder with a tensile test value of 486.3 N and a stress of 9.351 N/ mm〗^2. Microstructural observations show that the density of the mixture greatly affects the strength level of a specimen, while the air voids in the specimen will cause the material to break easily when in a tensile test.
