Abstract

Key Words: Writing skill, Shared Writing Strategy, Facebook Writing is one of the four language skills that can be measurement of literacy development in a country, it is also has not become entrenched yet, especially in Indonesia. but sometimes students feel confused how to arrange and express their idea into good sentences. Based on the preliminary study done by the researcher in the tenth grade students of MAN 2 Ponorogo in academic year 2017/2018. Some of the teachers still did not model how to write a in front of the students. Instead, they used the interesting strategy, which is only by giving the example of a writing that they have prepared at home. As a result, the students only learn from the example without witnessing the process of how a recount text is written. In fact, the students must be able to experience the process of writing. They have to know that mistake is a part of processes in writing; therefore, they will not be afraid of making mistakes while writing. The statement of problem of this research is how can Shared Writing Strategy with Facebook improve students writing skill at tenth grade Bina Prestasi of MAN 2 Ponorogo in the academic year 2017/2018? The purpose of this study is going to find out how the implementation of Shared Writing Strategy with Facebook. The researcher used classroom action research the subject of this study research was the students of the tenth grade Bina Prestasi of MAN 2 Ponorogo in the academic year 2017/2018 which consists of 26 students. The research was started on January 31st 2018 until February 21st2018. This research was conducted in two cycles. The researcher used three research instruments. There were observation checklist, questionnaire, and the test. The result of the research was satisfying. The result of observation checklist I was 64.35% then the observation checklist II was 78.70%, the result of questionnaire I was 73.95% then questionnaire II was 84.02%, and the test showed that cycle I was 22.22% who reached minimum mastery criteria of the study and in the cycle II they improved to 100%. It showed that students were interested, enjoyed and become active during teaching learning process. Finally, the researcher gives suggestion that Facebook as the most popular social media used nowadays is a media that can help the teacher teach writing. Many people use this social network to get connected with friends and relatives, including students. By using Facebook group, the teacher can invite the students to publish their writing on the Facebook wall and to get commented by their peers so that they can improve their writing. Students will find learning writing on Facebook as interesting activity since it is internet site that they access almost everyday.
