Abstract

The process of learning using online is a productive skill and involves students in generating language and ideas. This study discusses the 'analysis of the eleventh grade students strategies in learning via online' for the first semester students of class eleven SMKN 2 Ponorogo in the academic year 2020/2021. In this study, researcher uses qualitative research methods. Researcher used purposive sampling technique to determine sampling. The researcher chose the eleventh class as a sample consisting of five students. In collecting data, researcher used observation and interviews. Researcher used three main stages of data analysis, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. From data analysis, researcher found students problems and the causes of problems in the learning process via online at SMKN 2 Ponorogo as follows: (1) the difficulty of students learning via online in situations experienced by most students experience interference with signals, internet data cost independent learning.(2) the strategy that students do if there is interference with the student's signal, students prefer to work on assignments together at other students' homes, students also ask the teacher if they do not understand the material or assignments given by the teacher. Further more, there weresuggestions from researchers (1) students must remain enthusiastic about learning, especially learning English because in a pandemic situation like this one can only learn via online. (2) teacher should motivate them as often as possible in learning.
