Emergencies can occur anywhere and anytime so that the provision of basic life support training to PMR member students is needed to be able to improve basic life support skills, so that students are expected to be skilled in helping victims of cardiac arrest in the school and community environment. This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of basic life support education (simulation) on the skills of PMR member students at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Ponorogo
The research design used a pre-experiment with one group pre and post without control. The population of this study were 39 members of PMR SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Ponorogo. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with a sample size of 20 respondents. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon sign rank test with a significance level <0.05
The results showed that before the basic life support intervention with unskilled skill levels there were 16 respondents (80%) and skilled there were 4 respondents (20%) and after the basic life support intervention there were 17 respondents (85%) with skilled and less skilled skill levels. 3 respondents (15%). Statistical test results obtained p-value = 0.000 (p <0.05) so it can be concluded that there is an effect of basic life support education (simulation) methods on students' skills at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Ponorogo
The conclusion from this study is that basic life support training can affect the skills of PMR member students. Can provide basic life support training so that students are skilled in basic life support in the school and community environment
